Paolo Manzone wordt niet voor niets de pionier van Piëmonte genoemd, want hij weet iedere wijndrinker elk jaar weer te verrassen met de mooiste wijnen.Houtlagering voor de Barolo Serralunga d'Alba
Laten we beginnen met de prachtige wijngaard in cru Meriame in de comune (gemeente) Serralunga d'Alba in Barolo. Daar staan de oude stammen waar deze wijn van wordt gemaakt. De wijngaarden liggen op een perfecte hoogte van 350 meter en zijn zuid oostelijk aangeplant. Hierdoor is de oogst gegarandeerd van veel zon uren maar ook van ruim voldoende koelte. Deze verkoeling wordt verkregen door de wind vanaf de berg toppen en van de sterk dalende nacht temperatuur. Hierdoor is de rijping langzaam en evenwichtig waardoor de trossen krachtig kunnen worden door de unieke ondergrond. De bodem bestaat vooral uit klei en kalksteen en dat proeven we ook weer terug in deze rode wijn. Het oogsten van de Nebbiolo druiven is een belangrijke klus. Onderleiding van Paolo Manzone zelf worden de trossen met de hand geoogst en in kleine kratten vervoerd naar de wijnmakerij. Na de vinificatie ondergaat het zwarte sap een houtlagering van wel 24 maanden. De gehele wijn rijpt voor iets meer dan de helft op grote houten Sloveense Fouders van 3000 liter en het overige deel op Franse eiken houten vaten van 300 liter.De unieke smaak van de Paolo Manzone Barolo
Deze rode wijn is een waar feest geworden na de houtrijping. Alvorens te genieten van deze Barolo dient deze krachtige jongen nog wel even belucht te worden voor dat we hem kunnen gaan drinken. Bij het inschenken vanuit de karaf geeft hij een prachtige licht rode kleur met oranje schittering. Hij geurt het glas uit en geeft ons een warm gevoel van rozenblaadjes, gedroogd fruit, teer en wat kreupelhout. In de mond is het een betovering met zachte tannines op de tong met veel rijp rood fruit en lichte kruiden. Wals deze rode wijn even goed door de mond en u proeft ook indrukken van tabak, kersen, vanille en toast. De intense lange afdronk maakt alles compleet.Shipping Notes

My favorite... And I'm picky.

I've become a little obsessed with sunscreen over the last past 5 years. I have olive skin and developed melasma after my first pregnancy. I learned the hard way that chemical sunscreens don't help if you have melasma - and they actually make the dark spots even worse. Also the active ingredients in chemical sunscreens (like Oxybenzone and Octinoxate) are absorbed by your skin, and may cause allergies, hormonal imbalance and be toxic overtime. After learning that, I started wearing only mineral sunscreen (active ingredient is zinc and/or titanium dioxide). These are not absorbed and works by creating a physical barrier that reflects the sun (some studies suggest that some nanoparticles of zinc may be absorbed by your skin, so to be really, really safe you should look for non-nano particles).
After trying a few brands, I realized the sunscreens with only zinc in their formulas worked better than the blends with titanium dioxide, but this is just my personal preference I guess. And the higher the percentage of zinc, the better.
Most pure mineral sunscreens out there are 10-ish % zinc, SPF 30, 40 min water resistant - which is ok.
Thinksport goes beyond that: It's 20% non-nano zinc, SPF 50+, 80 min water resistant. It really can't get any better than that!
The lotion is not extremely thick when compared to other sunscreens I've tried and I find it pretty easy to apply. As every zinc sunscreen, it does leave a little fine white cast, but honestly Thinksport is not bad at all! It smells nice, lightly citrusy - and the smell vanishes soon. And, it's not overpriced.
Best I've tried so far.

Works but will Dry Out Your Skin
Size: 6 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I am a swim instructor at an outdoor pool and this stuff DOES work. I can apply it at the beginning of a 5 hour shift and while I have experienced light tanning it has protected against burning completely without reapplication.
The white cast is significant though I don't mind it aesthetically, I know its there for protection . It does rub off on things though so consider yourself warned.
Major Con: it is incredibly drying, and the soap needed to scrub it off is A LOT. That coupled with chlorine is a lot for my skin . Still on my sunscreen journey.

I couldn’t put this book down!!
Format: Paperback
I couldn’t put this book down! My daughter & I stayed in a bed-n- breakfast in Lochcarran on our trip to Scotland right before the COVID pandemic. Not only is the story a fun cozy, whodunnit, but I could visualize the geography while reading. I love the Scottish Highlands & Dee describes them perfectly in this book. Can’t wait to read the next book..it should arrive today!!

Pronunciation matters, and I can't finish this book.
Format: Audiobook
I listen almost exclusively to books set in Scotland & Ireland, so I'm very familiar with the accents and find them incredibly charming. That said, the name pronunciation really irritated me. The main character is Ally, but they are not pronouncing it to rhyme with Sally. It sounds more like they are separating it into two words- All E. After investing hours into the audiobook and trying to not let it bother me, they introduce an American character, Mamie, which should rhyme with "maybe", but NO- they call her Mommy! It is very confusing- I kept thinking a new character was introduced who was a parent. Nope. I give up. I don't think I can finish listening to this. I feel like I'm being pranked.
