1915, the Cabrach. In the fierce, wild beauty of this remote corner of Scotland, an isolated community makes a discovery- an ancient body in a peat bog, perfectly preserved.

Two people haul the body from the ground- Lizzie, the wife of a wealthy local landowner, and Johnny, a nomadic singer and farm hand.

Soon afterwards, strange events begin to occur. At hearthside and inn, people whisper- what have we unearthed?

As tensions run high and men leave for war, old fears and secrets emerge. But in a place where judgement is swift, who is truly without sin?

'A striking debut, filled with folkloric mystery and yearning' Amy Twigg, author of Spoilt Creatures

'Scapegoats, suspicion and secrets...a haunting picture of a small, intense environment where isolation can breed solidarity and warmth as easily as superstition and exclusion'
Financial Times

'A simmering tale of outcasts and buried secrets, love and redemption' Danielle Giles, author of Mere

'A striking and atmospheric debut' The Times

'Sets a beautifully atmospheric scene from its opening lines to its final moments' PA MEDIA

WHAT READERS ARE SAYING-

'An earthy, folkloric tale, where superstition is rife...
a captivating read. Highly recommended'

'A gothic literary experience, rural and immersive, that
thrums with tension, mystery and forbidden love'

'A
deeply immersive reading experience, and one of the best elements of this book is how the atmosphere and environment of rural scotland, the small farms, the fields, the bog, the changing of seasons - nature itself becomes a character'

'
Beautifully written, chilling and disturbing, the book is an engrossing read from start to finish'

'Sometimes you come across a book that is
note perfect; very readable and entirely relatable but still beautifully, poetically written. This is such a complete novel, it is hard to believe it is the author's debut'

'This was a
stunningly beautiful novel. Dark and creepy and wonderfully realised, and the character voices were next-level good'

A Must-Have Emergency Kit for Every Vehicle, Especially ATVs!
I recently bought this 54PCS Flat Tire Repair Kit with Air Compressor, and I’m seriously impressed. It’s one of those products you hope you won’t need—but are SO glad to have when the time comes. I used it on my ATV after catching a sharp rock on the trail, and it saved the day. The plug worked perfectly, and the air compressor had my tire reinflated in just a few minutes. What I really love is how complete the kit is. From cars and motorcycles to trucks and tractors, it’s got everything you need to handle a flat. The tools are solid and durable, and the case keeps everything neatly organized. It’s compact enough to toss in the back of my truck or ATV storage box without taking up too much space. If you ride ATVs in remote areas like I do, this kit is a no-brainer. It gives you peace of mind and saves you from having to hike back to civilization. Highly recommended!

Kept it in my trunk for months — used it once and it saved me
I’ve had this AUTOWN tire repair kit sitting in the trunk for several months as a “just in case” thing. I have only had to use it once, but the tools and compressor held up and it actually helped me get out of a bad spot where I didn’t have a spare tire available. Just to be clear, I wouldn’t call this a permanent fix. It’s more of an emergency repair to get you back on the road. In my case it did exactly that. Afterward, I went to a nearby tire shop and had the tire repaired the right way. Overall, I’m really glad I had it in the car. Just using it once has already paid for itself.

Saves time and money
Size: 47pcs, Size: 47pcs
I used this kit to fix a flat tire on one of my lawn tractors from a roofing nail. I used the smallest size (blue vial) and the supplied Phillips screwdriver to screw it in after applying a dab of rubber adhesive. Then I waited about 30 minutes to inflate the tire. The only thing missing from this kit is a set of pliers to pull out any nails or screws, so provide your own if you will be carrying this in your vehicle for roadside use. There are three sizes of screws, and they are steel (I expected that they would be plastic or rubber). The steel will have increased durability. The blue vials contain the smallest screws, the pink contain the medium, and the white contain the largest screws. The screws have some sort of pre-applied rubbery stuff on the threads that I believe helps them stick to the rubber with the supplied rubber adhesive. This kit is easy to use and is a great value for the amount of flat tires you can fix on your own versus the work, time, and money it takes to go to a tire shop. The black look of the screws camouflages the repair, just make sure you screw in the plug far enough into the tire that it won't contact the road or it will eventually wear off the black finish.

Tiny Tire Saver Kit
Size: 47pcs
I really like this 47 piece tire repair kit, it feels solid in my hand and the pieces aren’t flimsy at all. The rubber nails are a good size, not too bulky, and the whole set is lightweight enough to keep in the car without adding clutter. The black color looks clean and professional, and the glue works faster than I expected. For the cost, it feels like a smart buy because you get a lot of pieces and it can handle car, truck, or even motorcycle tires. It gave me peace of mind knowing I can fix a flat quickly on my own.
