Background

Safe Work Australia claims that working high up is the leading cause of onsite deaths. In the construction industry, 37% of all falls-related fatalities were caused by falls. However, falls can happen anywhere there is a high work environment.

A program of approved training is necessary to stay safe while working from heights higher than two metres. This training covers all the steps necessary to manage the dangers of working at heights. The training covers how to assess the surrounding environment and apply risk control measures. Here's a closer look into the training.

Who Should Attend Work at Heights Training Canberra?

The previous working at heights certificates did not apply if workers were located two metres or greater above the ground, or on another platform. WHS regulations changed and training is often required to perform tasks that may involve falling from any height.

Safety regulations mandate that PCBUs provide all necessary safety training to minimise hazards. Safety training is most commonly required for the following:

  • Assisting with ladder tasks
  • Working on uneven or instabile surfaces
  • Tasks performed on tops of tall structures
  • Working on elevated platforms

Retake the course if you have already completed older units related to height safety. RIIWHS204E replaced RIIWHS204D and complies the Work Health and Safety Regulations.

This training course is also required in order to take several other training courses. This training course is required, depending on your industry. These industries typically require heights training:

  • Gas supply
  • Infrastructure and resources
  • Management of the land and agriculture
  • Transport and logistics
  • Civil construction

Before enrolling for the training course you will also need your white card. Construction induction training is often required for entry to other courses. It is a smart idea to retake the training if your work experience has been less than 2 years.

What are the learning outcomes for the Work Safely at Heights Course?

RIIWHS204E - Work Safely at Heights is the competency unit for heights training . This course is designed to teach how to work safely in heights. This course is designed for compliance with all applicable laws and covers a variety of topics, including:

  • Safety procedures: How to interpret
  • Understanding WHS requirements
  • Checking and identifying safety equipment
  • Potential hazards can be identified and managed
  • Selecting and wearing personal protection equipment
  • Accessing and installing equipment
  • Perform work at height
  • After completing the task, clean up your work area

It is important to use safety equipment properly during training. You will be taught how to properly use personal protective equip (PPE), such a harness. The training also covers how to test the equipment before using it.

The process for managing hazards includes learning how to implement hazard controls. The steps include identifying hazards, applying engineering controls, administering controls, and using personal protective equipment (PPE).

The following list of control measures can reduce risk. Most effective is to remove the need to work from high heights, but PPE is the least effective at reducing hazards exposure.

Both filters for the price of one.
This filter set for my 10th generation Honda Civic is an excellent value and fits perfectly. Before installing, I compared both the cabin and engine air filters to the originals to ensure proper sizing, and they matched exactly. Replacing the cabin air filter was very simple and straightforward. The engine air filter requires a bit more effort since you need to remove four screws to access the housing, but it is still an easy process. Once opened, you simply remove the old filter and place the new one inside. Both filters appear to be high quality and, in fact, looked better constructed than the ones I removed. I especially appreciate that this set includes both filters together, making it convenient to replace them at the same time. Recently, while at the dealership, I overheard a technician inform a customer that replacing her air filters would cost $90. Considering how simple the process is, that price felt excessive. This two pack is very reasonably priced, and I have paid nearly the same amount in the past for just one filter (not from the dealership but auto zone). These filters are well made, fit properly, and offer significant savings compared to dealership and ur local auto stores. I plan to continue purchasing this set for future replacements.

    Compatible for 2018 Honda CR-V
This is a compatible fitment, as described in the listing, for our 2018 Honda CR-V. It was accurately described online. It seems to be comparable quality to the ones I took out to replace these. If I recall, they had been just as good as the stock ones when I put those in. I would say these are just as good as OEM & they feel very well made & durable. I consider them a good value for how much I saved by installing these myself & not paying a dealership. I highly recommend this
