WO16
These wall pieces are created by Tom and Nancy Giusti using the ancient Japanese method of Raku. The copper base glaze is an ever changing contrast surface. The pottery they produce is designed and created for a non-functional purpose. Each piece is removed from the kiln when it reaches a temperature of 1400 degrees Fahrenheit and immediately plunged into a pit of combustible sawdust. The resulting smoke and flame interact with the glaze creating shimmering metallic colors which enhance the gracefully drawn figures and plant impressions.
All Raku is intended for indoor decor only.
Note: Each wall hanging is unique the image shown is for reference purpose. Image maybe reversed in direction.
