Bedrock Wine Co. has become one of the most important voices in California wine by championing the state’s old vineyards and the history they carry. Founded by Morgan Twain-Peterson, son of Ravenswood founder Joel Peterson, and now guided with longtime partner Chris Cottrell, Bedrock is built around a simple but deeply meaningful mission: preserve and rehabilitate historic vineyards throughout Northern California. Many of these sites are home to ancient, mixed plantings of Zinfandel, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Grenache, Alicante Bouschet, and other varieties, often planted more than a century ago and farmed by families who helped shape California’s wine culture. Rather than treating these vineyards as relics, Bedrock sees them as living pieces of history, capable of producing wines of real freshness, complexity, and character.

Sourced from vines averaging 60 years old, the 2025 “Ode to Lulu” Rosé is a blend of 79% Mourvèdre, 18% Carignan, and 3% Grenache. “Ode to Lulu” is Bedrock’s homage to the rosés of Bandol, in the southern French region of Provence, and particularly to Lulu Peynaud of the great Bandol estate Domaine Tempier. Bedrock’s intention with “Ode to Lulu” is to make a refreshing, versatile wine that still offers generous fruit character. The Mourvèdre is sourced from the sandy soils and own-rooted vines of Oakley, with a bit of fruit from vines planted in the 1920s at Pagani Ranch. The Grenache comes from vines planted in the 1880s at Gibson Ranch, in Mendocino’s McDowell Valley.

This is a gorgeous rosé, showing both tart and ripe fruit flavors, from ruby red grapefruit and blood orange to watermelon and peach, with light floral notes of rose and peony. The palate has youthful energy, vibrant with notes of white tea and salinity. “Ode to Lulu” is intense and layered, yet refreshing with every sip. It’s a great wine for soft cheeses and cured meats, though perhaps an even better match for grilled tuna, ratatouille, or a Caesar salad with plenty of garlic and anchovies.

Good for the price but will not repurchase
Size: 9, Color: Grey
My husband loved these at first. Pros -easy to get on/off -stylish -comfortable -interior/exterior sole construction lasted longer than other more expensive shoes -price is great Cons -after less than a year the mouth of the shoe widened to a point where they slide off way too easy rendering them almost unwearable. -laces cannot be tightened

Good value for the money.
Size: 9.5 Wide, Color: Beige
Comfortable right out of the box. Great style and well made. The more you wear the softer they get but maintain their overall appearance.

Comfortable fit for slip-in fabric shoes
Size: 14, Color: Black/Black
My first experience with Marc Joseph. I typically purchase dress and casual work shoes from Florsheim and occasionally Rockport. I'm giving these four stars because the initial fit and feel appear solid. Depending on the shoe brand I wear a size 14 or 15. My feet are slightly wide but I don't alway need wide fit. These size 14 fit well with wide enough toe box. I've tried slip in shoes before and they just don't feel right. These somehow work and there is no heel slip. My only reservation is the high lip on the heel for slip-in and hope they dont catch pant hems. I gave 4 stars because I'll have to determine durability. Granted they are a light fabric shoe with a soft rubber tread. I'd like them to last for at least 6 months..and use them for business casual work wear during warm weather.
