To design a good trolling rod within the Exage STC range was one of the most challenging tasks for our engineers. For trolling rods, power together with suppleness are key. To obtain these features with a four-section rod is not an easy task, but one which Shimano's engineers have accomplished. Since then the Exage AX trolling has been tested the world over and overcame fights with sailfish, tuna and tropical groupers. The SiH guides are ultra strong and have a corrosion-proof finish. The butt grips are made from aluminum and EVA whilst the spigot-type joints are designed to withstand vast amounts of pressure.
